Safety Guidelines

Your safety is our highest priority. Please read these guidelines carefully before your trek.

Fitness Preparation

  • Start a cardio routine 6–8 weeks before your trek (running, cycling, stair climbing)
  • Build up to 45+ minutes of sustained cardio without stopping
  • Practice walking with a loaded backpack (8–10 kg) on weekends
  • Strengthen your knees with squats and lunges 3x per week

Altitude & Acclimatization

  • Never ascend more than 300–400m per day above 3,000m
  • Drink 3–4 litres of water per day on trek
  • Avoid alcohol and sleeping pills at altitude
  • Report any headache, nausea or dizziness to your guide immediately
  • Remember: the golden rule is 'climb high, sleep low'

Safety on Trail

  • Always stay within sight of your group and guide
  • Never hike after dark without a guide's permission and proper lighting
  • Carry a personal first aid kit and any prescription medications
  • Know the emergency descent route — your guide will brief you each day
  • Wear sun protection (SPF 50+ sunscreen, sunglasses, hat) above 3,000m

Leave No Trace

  • Pack out everything you pack in — including food wrappers
  • Use designated toilet areas only; bury waste at least 60m from water sources
  • Do not pick wildflowers or disturb wildlife
  • Camp only in designated campsites
  • Keep noise levels low, especially near wildlife habitats
